Eufy remains a popular retail brand, but there’s been ongoing scrutiny of its security and privacy practices. If you’re weighing up Eufy vs a pro system, here’s our plain-English view from the jobs we do across Masterton, Carterton, Greytown, Featherston, and the rural bits in between.

What Eufy does well

  • Recent AI training headlines: Separate reporting in 2025 covered campaigns encouraging users to submit “theft” clips to train AI—worth reading if privacy is a priority.

Colour at night: why we prefer “full-time colour”

If identification is the goal, colour is king. Pro-grade cameras with large F1.0–F1.2 lenses + warm supplemental light stay in colour all night with less glare, better skin tones, and more usable evidence than standard IR grayscale.

Where this really helps: driveways, shop fronts, yard perimeters, and any spot you might need vehicle colour or clothing details.
